130th Anniversary Cookbook

In celebration of their 130 th Anniversary, the employees of First National Bank & Trust once again gathered together a collection of their favorite recipes. The slogan for this milestone is “Rooted in Your Community Since 1887” and there is no better way to kick off the yearlong celebration than by releasing another cookbook.

According to Jean, the original idea came to them more than six years ago from employees bringing food to work and then sharing their favorite recipes. One day, Tanya said “what a great idea it would be to put them all together in a book to celebrate our 125 th Anniversary. We could publish the recipes and sell the books, donating the money to local food pantries.” We ran with the idea, published 550 books and sold out of them within six months.

Approximately 150 sought after recipes from past and present employees are divided into eight categories: Breakfast Favorites, Appetizers, Soups & Salads, Side Dishes, Main Dishes, Desserts, Beverages, and a catch-all category called “Other” in which you will find recipes for dog treats, repellents, laundry soap and more. They also shared some of their favorite photos, scattered throughout the pages. According to Jean “It was a lot of fun putting this book together. While typing and proofing the recipes, I couldn’t decide what I wanted to try to make next.”

The Anniversary Cookbooks are available at any of First National Bank & Trust Co.’s seven locations (Downtown, Kingsford, North, South, Econo Foods, Iron River, and Menominee) for $10 each. The proceeds will be shared with food pantries the employees support within each community. The cookbooks make great gifts for those who love to cook, recent graduates, students leaving for college, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, or just about any occasion. Books will be available for sale while supplies last.
