First National Bank & Trust Employees Donate to Injured Local Hero Chuck Edwards

After hearing the story of local hero Chuck Edwards, an Iron Mountain native who was injured in Afghanistan, First National Bank & Trust employees decided to put on a pot luck fundraiser to collect donations for Chuck and his family.  Chuck’s father, Mike Lesage, was on hand to receive the donation check from First National Bank & Trust Kingsford Branch Manager Diane Blaskowski and team.

Chuck’s Air Force regiment encountered an ambush while on patrol in Afghanistan.  One soldier was killed and even though Chuck was shot four times, he is credited with saving the rest of the men.  He is currently in a Florida rehab facility but will be heading back to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for additional surgery.   His family reports that he is in good spirits even though he will have a long recovery road ahead.
