First National Bank & Trust announces their support of the Dickinson Trail Network’s Pewabic Trail Project with a $5,000 contribution.  The Dickinson Trail Network (DTN) is currently in the planning stages of designing, fundraising and developing a new multi-use, non-motorized trail system on Iron Mountain’s Pewabic Hill site.

“Dickinson Trail Network wants to thank everyone at First National Bank & Trust for this generous donation to help fund the Pewabic Trail Project,” said Chad Susott DDS, President, DTN.  “This support demonstrates our shared commitment to improving our community by creating and expanding upon our outdoor recreational opportunities.  Safe and accessible outdoor exercise improves mental and physical wellness which helps everyone be happy, healthy, and productive.  This donation from First National Bank & Trust is a big step towards accomplishing that goal.”

The Pewabic Trail Project is currently in the capital fundraising stage.  DTN teamed up with the City of Iron Mountain to successfully secure a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grant.  This grant will cover 70% of the total construction costs while DTN has agreed to fundraise the required 30% in matching funds.

“The Dickinson Trail Network is made up of a dedicated group of volunteers that is taking Dickinson County outdoor recreational opportunities to the next level,” said Dave Kashian, First National Bank & Trust President & CEO.  “First National Bank & Trust is honored to support this worthwhile organization and we encourage all area businesses to give whatever you can to continue to financially support this group and the fine work they are doing for our community.”
