First National Bank & Trust has announced the promotions of Jean O’Dette and Beth Linn. “We are pleased to announce the promotion of these two individuals and to recognize their outstanding performance and contributions to the continued success and growth of our Bank,” said David Kashian, CEO.
Jean O’Dette has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer. She is currently the Retail Lending Manager overseeing a team of lenders originating mortgage, home equity and consumer loan products. In her new role, she will be responsible for managing the risk of both the Bank’s retail and commercial lending programs along with providing support, direction, credit information, and implementing loan policies and procedures to ensure the overall quality of the Bank’s best lending practices follow state laws and regulations.
Ms. O’Dette joined the company in January 2010 as the Bank’s first credit analyst and served as Vice President, Business Banker from March 2014 to January 2019, when she was promoted to Vice President, Retail Lending Manager. She also is the Security Officer and is involved in many internal committees. She was previously with MFC First National Bank/Wells Fargo Bank, where she served in the capacities of customer service, branch manager, mortgage department manager and Vice President of Retail Lending.
She received an associate degree from Bay de Noc Community College and is a 2015 graduate of the MBA Commercial Lending School. Through her career, she has continued her education by completing courses in the Robert M. Perry School of Banking, College of Sales Management, Advanced Leadership Seminars and Successful Money Management, among others.
Ms. O’Dette is very active in the community, volunteering her time to many groups, including serving on the Board of Directors for the Dickinson Area Chamber Alliance and Treasurer for IM-K Builders Exchange, Carney Lake Association and Carney Lake Boards and Chairperson of the newly formed Family Snowshoe Charity Association. She lives in Breitung Township with her husband, Larry.
Beth Linn has been promoted to the position of Assistant Vice President and Operations Manager. As Operations Manager, she is responsible for all Bank deposit operations, including overseeing the daily operational and compliance aspects.
Ms. Linn obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Lake Superior State University and is also Certified through ECCHO as an NCP (National Check Professional). She previously worked at First National Bank & Trust from 1998 to 2005 as a Teller and Mortgage Loan Processor before working as a Reimbursement Coordinator/Finance for Dickinson County Healthcare System. She returned to First National Bank & Trust in 2018 as Deposit Operations Supervisor and was promoted to Operations Manager in March 2021.
She plays an active role in the community and currently is an active member and former Co-Secretary of the Zonta Club of Iron Mountain-Kingsford.
