Summer Student Path to Success- Cole Grenier

Cole Grenier is an Iron Mountain native who graduated from Northern Michigan University in December of 2016, with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He started his career at First National Bank & Trust in 2014 as a summer student Teller, before joining as a Credit Analyst upon graduation. In 2019, Mr. Grenier advanced further and was promoted to a Commercial Lender. Recently, he was promoted to Assistant Vice President, Commercial Lender.

What did he enjoy about being a summer student at FNB?

I enjoyed the interaction with both the customers and the employees. Being a summer student, you have the opportunity to work at the different FNB locations. You also have the chance to learn from the experienced employees – some which have over 40+ years of experience! In my opinion, there is nothing more important than the real-world experience of the day-to-day operation of a business. In addition, your schedule doesn’t vary much week to week, and it is nice to have nights and weekends off!

What does he currently enjoy about his career at FNB?

Most importantly – the people! There is a reason that FNB has been in our area for more than 135 years. We pride ourselves on being a Community Bank and doing what is in the best interest of our customers. As for the employees, there is a reason why we have multiple employees with over 40 years of experience – FNB not only cares about you as an employee, but also cares about your life outside of work. My goal is to be “one of the employees” with over 40 years of experience.
